Come see us at this upcoming show!

February 10-11, 2012 O/S Scale West     -    Santa Clara, CA

January 26, 2012   USRA 0-6-0 Production Models update!

Production Samples

The production samples have arrived from Korea and are making the trip with River Raisin Models to Springfield, Massachusetts and Santa Clara, California. We still expect the production models to arrive at River Raisin by the end of February.

After review and testing the locomotives will be shipped to our customers.

   Productions Samples

The pilot models were evaluated for performance, accuracy and conformance to the prototype.  Features including lettering, colors and final details have been verified.  These fine brass locomotives may still be ordered in DC scale or DC Hi-rail. Models include B&O, GT, NYC, NKP, PRR, and UP Prototypes.

Our builder, Boo Rim Precision, is building these models to our usual high standards. He has worked with us to develop a project that will have multiple road names with the different appliances and tenders that are appropriate to the different roads. There will be at least two locomotive numbers available for each railroad version.
Modelers will have the choice of standard USRA tender or a clear vision tender.   A few versions will have road specific tenders.

Milwaukee Road Rib-sided Cabooses
Brass in two versions, S scale and S hi-rail

MLW Caboose

No caboose on any railroad was more identifiable with the railroad that built them than the Milwaukee Road’s  “rib-siders”.  The road’s welded, rib-sided construction built by the craftsmen of the Milwaukee Shops, proved to be lighter yet stronger than the more typical construction methods. Between 1939 and 1951, Milwaukee built 315 bay-window, rib-sided cabooses. Seven different varieties of the “rib-siders” were built over the years with modifications and improvements added to the design.  River Raisin has built two of the versions that operated during the entire time period these cabooses ran. The cabooses lasted longer than the railroad did. (Model photo by Bob Werre.)

River Raisin has these S scale brass models available in either the 1939 original or 1949 versions and also with scale or hi-rail wheels and couplers.
